Crowded Table: A Regional Juried Exhibition

About this event

OVERLAP Art Space presents Crowded Table , a regional juried exhibition with a focus on food and community, juried by Lesley Baker, Bob Dilworth, and Harry Philbrick.* This exhibition will be shown in tandem with Surface Feast, an exhibition and online auction of ceramic bowls, designed and decorated by local artists, through a community initiative at OVERLAP Art Space.

These two fundraising exhibitions were created in the spirit of giving back around the holidays. The proceeds from both exhibitions will be split evenly between Overlap Art Space and the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.

Crowded Table will bring together 38 artists from across New England whose work considers and/or facilitates the cultivation, preparation, display and consumption of food, as well as the habits and traditions associated with nourishment and gathering. Crowded Table will feature artwork that is functional – tools created for gathering at a “crowded table”, work that is topical, and work that is both at the same time.

Hours: Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays 12-4; Sundays 12-3

The opening reception will be November 14 from 2-4 p.m. Closing reception is December 19 from 2-4 p.m.
