"Sleep Dealer" (2008): Rigorously Curated Sad Robot (Sentience Was a Mistake) Film Festival

About this event

Join us this fall for three films that ask what it means to be human in a world where people and machines are becoming increasingly intertwined. For the first time, our Rigorously Curated Film Festival is being screened in the Main Hall of The Lindemann Performing Arts Center, and the Nelson Atwater Lobby will become a movie theater lobby, offering classic cinephile concessions (think popcorn, chocolate-covered raisins, all the good stuff.) On Tuesday, November 10, we'll kick off the fe stival with the 2008 film Sleep Dealer, directed by Alex Rivera. Per the IMDB listing on the film: "The near future. Like tomorrow. In a world marked by closed borders, corporate warriors, and a global computer network, three strangers risk their lives to connect, break through the barriers of technology, and unseal their fates." Open to all; free tickets required.em>, directed by Alex Rivera. Per the IMDB listing on the film: "The near future. Like tomorrow.
