Local music venues will host several live concerts this winter starting Jan.

🌲 Environment
Two brown pelicans, found dehydrated with a severe foot infection near the Port of Galilee in late December, were brought to the Wildlife Clinic of Rhode Island for specialized IV treatment.
The birds, rescued on Dec. 24 and Dec. 26 near State Street in Point Judith, are expected to remain in care for several weeks (pending possible transfer to a southern rescue facility).

URI men's basketball lost to Loyola Chicago 61–57 on Dec.
31 at ETSouth Kingstown — the loss marked the team's seventh defeat in eight conference openers and disappointed the New Year's Eve crowd.
