- ➤ Warwick native Tim Chase, a pizza reviewer and former high school assistant principal, is the focus of a local docuseries that captures his passion for pies and his renewed career journey. Filmmaker Kirk Benttinen said the episode will debut in summer 2026 to celebrate Rhode Island culture. WJAR
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Rhode Island Council on Elementary and Secondary Education approved plans Monday night to open a bilingual K-12 charter school, De La Comunidad, in 2027 for Cranston, Pawtucket and Providence — and to expand middle school seats at Greene School in West Greenwich. The council rejected a proposal for a technical academy in Providence. WJAR
- ➤ The Rhode Island Bar Foundation is accepting applications for its law school scholarship program for 2026-2027 & will award six $25,000 scholarships to Rhode Island residents. Cranston Herald
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Rhode Island + Connecticut filed a preliminary injunction to resume work on the $4 billion Revolution Wind project after a U.S. Interior Department order halted progress last month for national security reasons. The project is nearing completion and the states are pushing to let it move forward. WJAR

- ➤ Care New England has named Carolyn Jackson as President and COO of Kent Hospital, effective Feb. 2, with over 20 years of experience from roles including CEO at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital + leadership in other medical centers to strengthen care. Warwick Post
