- ➤ Residents have seen high winter utility bills because electric rates rose and usage increased due to cold weather; however, a temporary plan will give bill credits in January, February, and March, and Gov. McKee is working to roll back a renewable energy law to lower future costs. The Providence Journal
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ University of Rhode Island expert Tom Mather explained that freezing temperatures do not kill ticks because they enter dormancy and use antifreeze-like substances to survive winter.
