  • Friday marked the 23rd anniversary of the Station nightclub fire at the memorial park in West Warwick — Gov. Dan McKee remembered the 100 lives lost, over 200 injured and paid tribute to the first responders who helped that tragic night.  WJAR

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Electric Boat announced plans to add 3,500 workers to its Quonset Point plant as part of an 8,000-worker expansion for new submarine construction. The hiring surge was confirmed on Feb. 19 and will be detailed further at Monday, Feb. 23’s legislative breakfast.  The Providence Journal

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Station Fire Memorial Park (211 Cowesset Ave., West Warwick) honors the 100 lives lost in the 2003 nightclub fire and offers engraved pillars, stone paths, and a timeline for visitors to remember the tragedy with free admission and no set hours.  The Providence Journal

  • Friday's RIIL basketball playoff games provided live results for multiple divisions in boys and girls matches with teams such as La Salle and Mount Pleasant competing.
