  • Latte Love Coffee House opened today on Bald Hill Road (1276 Bald Hill Road) in the former Saladworks in Warwick, marking its third location in Rhode Island. The cafe serves espresso, tea, coff‑tails, baked goods, sandwiches, and smoothies and welcomes customers seven days a week until 5 p.m., opening at 6 a.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. on weekends.  The Providence Journal

  • Four students from Warwick Area Career and Technical Center won a culinary contest with their Asian Chicken Wonton Cups dish & now see it featured as a special appetizer at Boat House in Tiverton through Monday, Mar. 23.  The Providence Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Rhode Island law prohibits keeping pet monkeys to protect residents and wildlife, but domestic water buffalo may be kept instead. The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (DEM) said the rule aims to prevent safety risks from exotic animals.  The Providence Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • On Wednesday, Mar. 18 at Lynch Arena, Blackstone Valley rallied from a 2-0 deficit to win the Division II hockey championship, with Colin Dorgan scoring a late goal that honored his family after a past tragedy.  WJAR
  • TRPW girls hockey team captured the state championship with a 2+0 win over South County yesterday. The new co-op, which combines La Salle, Toll Gate, Pilgrim + West Warwick, overcame early struggles with key plays from Bridie Murphy and Taylor Butler.  The Providence Journal
  • URI women’s basketball team received a send-off from fans at the Ryan Center on March 19 and will face No. 6 Alabama at 2:30 p.m. in Louisville tomorrow in the first round of the NCAA Tournament — marking the state women’s first March Madness appearance in 30 years after a record 28-win season.  The Providence Journal
