- ➤ A new URI study released March 26 shows that in fiscal 2025 the university generated $2 billion in economic activity and supported more than 17,000 jobs, with Washington County gaining nearly $1 billion in impact. Every dollar invested returned almost $17 to the local economy. The Providence Journal
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Governor Dan McKee discussed a report on Providence Public Schools on Mar. 27, highlighting state investments of $1 billion for school facilities and over $6.5 million in FOI grants for high-need districts (Providence, Central Falls, Woonsocket, Pawtucket, West Warwick) with Education Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green joining the briefing. - ➤ Ruby-throated hummingbirds are migrating north and are expected to reach feeders in Rhode Island by late April. Residents can help the birds by setting up and cleaning feeders filled with a 1:4 sugar-water mix. The Providence Journal
