  • Charges were dropped for two Warwick men—John Vieira and Justin Mitchell—for their alleged role in a fight that led to 53-year-old Dale Mooney’s death at Gillette Stadium on Sept 17, 2023.  ABC 6

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Toll Gate High School graduate Jarek Marte from Warwick enlisted in the Navy in 2014 after feeling that he could do more with his life. He now serves as a weapons specialist aboard the USS Iwo Jima — testing rounds and mentoring junior sailors while keeping alive the sea stories that inspired him.  The Providence Journal

HEALTH NEWS

  • Linda Delomba, a non-verbal autistic woman, was found in the back of a car in Cranston in March after she was missing for five days—her case has spurred calls for improved autism education—Joanne Quinn from The Autism Project stressed that understanding each person’s unique needs is vital.  ABC 6

SPORTS NEWS

  • URI men's basketball added guards Jonah Hinton from St. Bonaventure and RJ Johnson from Charleston Southern through the transfer portal to replace departing players.
