  • Rhode Island Spirits launched Save the Bay Gin on April 17 in Pawtucket, with $5 per bottle donated to Save the Bay. Local food news continues with Greenwood Community Church’s Almost May Breakfast scheduled in Warwick on April 25 featuring a full menu of breakfast favorites.  The Providence Journal

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Real Housewives of Rhode Island will feature pizza chips (a lighter version of pizza without cheese) on Sunday night at 9 when cast members visit North Kingstown Town Beach to enjoy this local favorite. One cast member questioned its taste, adding to the lively conversation.  The Providence Journal

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Local anglers can catch striped bass at Chepiwanoxet Point and other nearby hotspots following new conservation tips, including using a single hook and safe release. The Crowne Plaza Hotel hosted the 16th annual Energy, Environment and Oceans Leaders Day that featured discussions on wind farms, fish abundance, and renewable energy.  The Providence Journal

  • Residents waiting for their RI state tax refund can check its status at the R.I. Division of Taxation website — digital filings are processed in two to three weeks while paper returns may take longer.  The Providence Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Providence Journal announced the All-State Girls Indoor Track and Field Teams on April 17, recognizing top athletes from schools across the state. Teams earned spots with key performances in sprints, relays, and hurdles and are set to compete in future outdoor meets (results were recorded at the state meet).  The Providence Journal
