- ➤ Ming’s food truck has opened at the corner of Broad St. and Shaw Ave.—bringing innovative Thai cuisine, from chicken sandwiches to $17 appetizers, to the Edgewood neighborhood—and customers have waited over an hour in line; the truck is open Tuesday through Saturday for lunch and dinner. - ➤ The Rhode Island Lottery reported two large prizes remained unclaimed — a $50,000 winning Powerball ticket purchased at Marty’s Liquors in Warwick on April 16 and a Lucky for Life ticket from April 19 at Atwood Wine & Spirits in Cranston that is worth $25,000 a year for life — and urged players to check their tickets on its website. - ➤ State lawmakers are working on a bill to expand Pre-K access and reach 70% enrollment with new programs and steady funding + experts say early education helps kids succeed later. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Warwick Planning Board will hold a public hearing on May 14 at 6:00 P.M. at the City Hall Annex Sawtooth Building Community Room to consider a Master Plan Application for a major land development proposal by Bridge Group, LLC that includes a mixed-use building with six residential units and retail/restaurant space—attendees are invited to review plans and offer input. - ➤ The Rhode Island Department of Transportation shifted all travel lanes to the right at the merge of Route 4 north and I-95 north in Warwick as part of a $12.4 million project to widen the highway corridor and improve merging lanes. Crews will work to reduce congestion by closing lanes from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., and the current shift will last until early summer—followed by a second phase with lanes shifted left before work finishes in the fall.
