ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Amtrak partially resumed service on one track after debris from an I-95 on-ramp fell on tracks — RIDOT and Amtrak crews removed the debris and began repairs, a second track reopened Saturday and a third is set to open today, causing delays on several routes.  WJAR

HEALTH NEWS

  • City Hall hosted a Donate Life Month press conference with Speaker K. Joseph Shekarchi, Scott Nerney, and Mayor Frank Picozzi to honor organ donors and raise awareness about organ donation. (New England Donor Services presented proclamations celebrating donors’ life-saving impact.)  Warwick Post
  • Officials confirmed a second measles case in a woman in her 20s on April 25, who visited from abroad and was treated at Brown University Health Urgent Care on April 24. Health officials are contacting people exposed while urging parents to update their children’s MMR vaccinations.  The Providence Journal
  • Rhode Island Department of Health confirmed a second measles case in a woman returning from abroad (not linked to an earlier case) who visited family and received treatment at Brown University Health Urgent Care in Middletown on Friday, April 24. Officials are contacting those present at the facility.  WJAR

SPORTS NEWS

  • Moses Meus, a standout and ex-St. Raphael star, will return to URI for his junior season due to loyalty to his home team. The Rams have kept almost all key players and aim for a third straight Coastal Athletic Association title — with Meus boosting his tackle count last season.  The Providence Journal
