- ➤ On Saturday, more than 30 veterans (including World War Two, Korea and Vietnam vets) boarded a RI250 Honor Flight to Washington for a 15-hour tour of memorials ahead of Rhode Island’s 250th celebration, organized by the RI250 Commission. WJAR
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A broken 20-inch pipe in East Providence spilled about 800,000 gallons of untreated sewage into Narragansett Bay on May 4, shutting down prime quahog beds in the Lower Providence Area today. Officials plan water and shellfish tests (beginning May 12) and the beds may not reopen until after May 18. The Providence Journal
