Warwick police arrested Matthew Beausoleil at a gas station on Post Road Saturday morning after officers responded to a domestic call from West Warwick and found a firearm in his vehicle; he faces charges (possession of an unlicensed pistol and a large capacity magazine) and may face further charges in West Warwick with a bail commissioner set for Saturday morning.

Heavy rain on Friday canceled many games but Saturday, Rhode Island high school sports went ahead — Narragansett softball rallied for a 13-3 win with a walk-off hit and West Warwick baseball overturned an early deficit to win 10-4 — with teams showing strong pitching and hitting.

NJIT beat Bryant on Saturday at Conaty Park when an RBI triple in the eighth gave them a 7—6 win and snapped Bryant’s 10-game winning streak.

The loss put Bryant at 28—17—1 overall and 14—6 in America East play, and the teams will face off in a rubber match on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
