- ➤ Community members in Westerly are raising funds to build a statue honoring Rhode Island runner Ellison "Tarzan" Brown, who won the Boston Marathon in 1936 and 1939 and represented the U.S. in the 1936 Olympics. The memorial fund has raised over $25,000 of its $50,000 goal and will continue its fundraising efforts. WJAR
