ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A tree fell in the middle of Hayes Street in Warwick last Saturday afternoon, knocking out power until Rhode Island Energy crews and a tree company restored service within an hour — police responded at 12:00 p.m. to assist — and the roadway was cleared. WJAR
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday at Rhode Island College, La Salle Academy beat Chariho 13-0 as Hailey Vigneau pitched five shutout innings & Lily Roumelis hit two home runs. The Rams are now one win away from a state championship and will prepare to secure their third consecutive title. The Providence Journal
- ➤ Special Olympics Rhode Island hosted its Summer Games on Saturday at the University of Rhode Island with over 1,000 athletes competing in sports such as bowling, powerlifting, swimming, soccer skills, unified soccer and track and field. The event provided free vision, dental, hearing and fitness screenings along with massage therapy—while the games continue today in Wakefield. ABC 6
