  • After Saturday's storm caused power outages and blocked roadways, residents in Warwick cleared debris and removed a fallen tree that blocked a 93-year-old's driveway and medical access. Neighbors used social media and heavy machinery to restore access — showing strong community support.  WJAR

CULTURE NEWS

  • Visitors at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet in Cranston see a statue of Terpsichore (goddess of music, song and dance) greeting them; the original, dating to 1880, anchors a venue that evolved into the Rhodes Ballroom after a fire in 1915.  The Providence Journal
  • The Real Housewives of Rhode Island filmed their 10th episode on May 31 at local spots like Twin Oaks restaurant, Scarborough State Beach, and Federal Hill. Cast member Kelsey Swanson now lives in Warwick.  The Providence Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • Playoff games on Sunday set up championship matchups across Rhode Island: Middletown baseball advanced with a walk-off win against East Greenwich, softball teams secured key wins, and the No. 1 Warwick boys tennis match was postponed (Monday, June 1).  The Providence Journal
  • High school sports hit a big day yesterday as teams played baseball, softball, tennis, and volleyball to secure championship spots. Championship tennis matches took place at Slater Park in Pawtucket while baseball and softball games were hosted at Rhode Island College and other local venues.  The Providence Journal
  • A rainstorm forced the Division II boys tennis championship match between Prout and North Smithfield to be postponed until Monday — play will resume at East Providence High School at 4:30 p.m.  The Providence Journal
