- ➤ Warwick police said they are seeking two suspects who on Tuesday stole $200 worth of frozen shrimp from the Warwick Avenue Stop and Shop while walking north on Warwick Ave (witnesses should contact Sergeant Geoff Waldman). ABC 6
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Rhode Island DMV explained that since May 7, airline travelers must show REAL ID-compliant IDs at TSA checkpoints and that DoD IDs (Department of Defense IDs) can be used if TSA determines they are acceptable. Passengers using non-compliant state IDs can face delays and extra screening at the airport. The Providence Journal
- ➤ The Rhode Island Senate today is considering a payday lending reform bill that would lower allowed interest on payday loans to 36% APR from 260% APR—this proposal passed the House unanimously earlier and, if approved, will be sent to Gov. Dan McKee to take effect on Jan. 1, 2027. WJAR
