- ➤ FlightSimExpo is at the Rhode Island Convention Center and lets visitors try simulators that feel like real planes — local aviation schools support those learning flight skills. The expo ends on June 29. ABC 6
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, T.F. Green Airport in Warwick is preparing for a busy Fourth of July travel week as AAA projects 72.2 million Americans to travel domestically and 5.8 million to fly between today and July 6 — a jump of over 1.5 million long-distance travelers. The airport also celebrated being ranked sixth in the top ten by the Washington Post. ABC 6
- ➤ RIDOT will begin a new phase of demolition on Washington Bridge next week as crews remove the remaining river piers, and two lanes on I-195 will close from the Warren Avenue off-ramp to the Massachusetts line starting Tuesday night with overnight closures from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.—work needed for structural health monitoring. - ➤ Rhode Island Public Transit Authority said it will hold public hearings from July 28 to Aug. 6 on service cuts and fare increases to fix a $17.6 million budget deficit; one hearing is in Warwick at the Community College of Rhode Island Knight Campus from noon to 1:30 p.m.—changes may include fewer buses and less weekend service. The board will review public input in August and vote on the cuts, which will take effect on Sept. 6 if approved. WJAR
