- ➤ On July 5th, off-duty captain Charles Boisseau of Warwick Police spotted a fire outside a Cranston home on Whispering Pines Drive and quickly called 911 twice before re-entering the burning house to rescue the homeowner's wife and three young children—local officials later honored his bravery at a ceremony attended by Cranston and Warwick leaders. - ➤ Rhode Island Hospital and the United Nurses and Allied Professionals reached a tentative agreement on a new contract on July 3 that includes retroactive raises, step and COLA increases, and market competitive benefits—hospital officials said it will go to a ratification vote tomorrow. WJAR

- ➤ A part-time Warwick Schools custodian, Luis Calcano Acevedo, turned himself in on Monday, July 14 on a warrant for stealing 10 Chromebooks from Robertson Elementary School—surveillance video showed him taking the devices and he was later released on $3,000 personal recognizance after appearing at 3rd District Court. - ➤ ICE agents in Providence arrested Ivan Rene Mendoza-Meza—a self-admitted MS-13 gang member with three prior fentanyl trafficking charges in Rhode Island—who is from Honduras and now faces removal from the U.S. ABC 6

- ➤ Gov Dan McKee met with an investor on July 11 at the Amica Mutual Pavilion to discuss relocating the Connecticut Sun to Providence — the Mohegan Tribe confirmed that no team representatives have visited the arena.
