GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • RIDOT shifted both travel lanes on the I-95 North service road at Jefferson Boulevard in Warwick Friday night at 9 p.m.—the change needed for reconstruction of the I-95 bridge—. From July 20 to 23 the service road will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and the right two lanes on I-95 North will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.—although at least two lanes will remain open for travel.  ABC 6
  • Current owners of a 2003 Carriage Carri-Lite camper cannot sell their vehicle as the Rhode Island DMV has no record of a title, and officials advise contacting the RI Division of Taxation or the tax clerk's office in the original owner's town (phone 401-574-8955) for guidance.  The Providence Journal

HEALTH NEWS

  • Rhode Island State Police K-9 Hugo, a 3 1/2-year-old patrol and narcotics dog, returned home after spending 13 days in intensive care for a severe heat stroke he suffered earlier this month. • Care New England filed an unfair labor practice complaint against the union representing Women and Infants Hospital after staff stormed management meetings on July 10 and 11, claiming the disruptive actions violated hospital policies and endangered patient care. The union responded by arguing that hospital management had threatened its rights and undermined proper workplace procedures—fueling the current dispute.  ABC 6
