GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today, the Automobile License Plate Collectors Association will award a Rhode Island charity plate that features the Rose Island Lighthouse, the Newport-Pell Bridge and sailboats (with '18' and '70' on the sails showing when the lighthouse was built) at an event on Smith Hill. Car owners can order these plates for an extra fee that helps support local groups. WJAR
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Rhode Island FC and Hartford Athletic played to a 0—0 draw at Centreville Bank Stadium on Saturday in front of 10,619 fans, with the first clear shot coming in the 70th minute amid 36 fouls and 12 minutes of stoppage. Coach Khano Smith said his team created chances but missed opportunities led to a disappointing game, and Hartford will return for a rematch next Saturday. The Providence Journal
