- ➤ Rhode Island Acting U.S. Attorney Sara Bloom said four foreign nationals pleaded guilty in a multi-state ATM and retail skimming scheme that saw over 15,000 cards compromised and more than $280,000 withdrawn from customer accounts — their sentencing will take place in October. WJAR
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Rhode Island Energy has proposed a winter rate of 14.8 cents per kilowatt hour for about 500,000 customers from Oct. 1 until March 31, nearly 10% lower than last winter yet still above pre-market turmoil levels—while the company will expedite bill credits and launch programs like Operation Help to support low-income customers. - ➤ Rhode Island now allows residents with disabilities to receive haircuts at home after a law passed two weeks ago legalized in-home hair care services.
