  • The FBI Boston Division warns residents that scammers have increased calls claiming to be law enforcement to extort money and steal personal details—officials advise verifying any unexpected calls by contacting the division directly at 857-386-2000.  WJAR

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Community College of Rhode Island received a $1M Gable Grant from the Lowe’s Foundation last week to boost its Electrical Apprenticeship and Ready to Build programs — the grant will fund new lab spaces at the Warwick campus expected to be ready by January 2026 to expand enrollment and meet growing skilled trades demand.  Cranston Herald

  • Helena Foulkes holds a strong fundraising lead in the race for governor – she has $2.1 million in the bank compared to Gov Dan McKee’s $879,000 despite McKee being the only one who has officially launched his campaign. House Speaker K. Joseph Shekarchi shows support with $3.4 million and remains a potential contender for the race.  The Providence Journal
