- ➤ Warwick police are investigating a swatting hoax that took place over the weekend in the Warwick Neck area on Cliff Road—officers responded to a call that falsely reported an active shooter using an untraceable internet voice system and tied up resources while working with the Rhode Island Fusion Center to identify any suspect and plan charges. - ➤ Marta Martinez, founder and director of RI Latino Arts, said a new portrait gallery by Latin artist Rene Gomez tells the story of well-known RI Latinos—local visitors may soon learn how to view the exhibit. The Providence Journal

- ➤ The 2025 high school football season is underway as Injury Fund exhibitions have been played this week and league contests are set for Saturday—most regular season games will begin next week with teams competing across Rhode Island. Warwick Online
- ➤ Division III high school football players are set to take the field starting Sept. 11 as teams like Ponaganset, Classical, and North Providence train top talents — including Allard, Howley, and Martel — to build on past success and overcome rebuild challenges. The Providence Journal
