- ➤ The City of Warwick with MISSION: Boots to Briefcases will host the annual 9-11 Memorial Service at Oakland Beach Seawall at 10:28 a.m. on September 11; seating is limited so visitors should bring a camp chair and USAR Colonel (RET) Robert Marciano will serve as the keynote speaker. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Thursday morning around 7 a.m. on Warwick Avenue, a school bus and a RIPTA bus collided—no students were on the school bus and one RIPTA passenger was taken for medical evaluation while the cause remains under investigation. ABC 6

- ➤ Johnston’s landfill has operated for about 60 years as a recycling center and methane producer and will face capacity challenges by 2046. La Salle coach Dan Koppen made his debut with a 28-27 win over Chaminade while three local breweries are for sale amid a nationwide decline in beer drinking. The Providence Journal
- ➤ Today, Governor Dan McKee will sign a law that requires new school buses to be fitted with video cameras for safety—districts must install stop-arm cameras by 2032 and drivers who pass a bus illegally will be fined between $250 and $500. ABC 6
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Kent Hospital earned verification from the American College of Surgeons as a geriatric surgery facility—the first in New England and the 25th in the nation. The certification means the hospital has met national standards for safe surgery care for older adults. Warwick Post
