- ➤ Dare to Dream Ranch in Foster helps veterans by offering a unique program that includes animal care and ranch work, which veteran Joseph Rollan said greatly improved his life. The ranch will host a fundraiser on Sept. 20 — its goal is to raise $50,000 to continue supporting veterans. ABC 6
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Warwick firefighters returned to Tiger Eye Gift Shop after hot spots flared up again Monday— the fire from Saturday was quickly extinguished but Chief Peter McMichael said crews still cannot enter as investigators work to pinpoint the accidental cause. ABC 6
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Taylor Swift's new album, 'The Life of a Showgirl', will be available for purchase at midnight on Oct. 3 at the Warwick Target store located at 1245 Bald Hill Road (three Target-exclusive CDs with bonus items will be sold), while streaming opens at midnight. The Providence Journal
- ➤ Magician John van der Put, known as Piff the Magic Dragon, will perform a mix of magic and comedy at the Park Theatre in Cranston on September 18 at 7:30 p.m.—part of the All-Star Vegas show with several performers. - ➤ Helena Foulkes announced her run for governor Tuesday at Roger Williams Park Casino, planning a rematch against Gov. McKee after a close 2022 primary—she said Rhode Islanders feel squeezed and need strong leadership. Her campaign comes amid concerns after Hasbro said it would leave the state, and she will visit communities to share her plan to keep businesses here. ABC 6

- ➤ Rhode Island pool players have enjoyed big wins in two recent events, winning a seniors championship at Mohegan Sun and taking second at the World Pool Championships in Las Vegas + earning $5,000.
