  • Following Charlie Kirk's shooting, state officials reported that threats have increased and some, like Attorney General Peter Neronha, boosted their security measures—while several lawmakers said they received death threats amid tense political conditions.  The Providence Journal
  • Rhode Island college students were shocked by the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk at a Utah Valley University event on Sept. 10 — they voiced concern over rising gun violence and political divisions.  The Providence Journal

  • Providence Performing Arts Center will hold a ticket giveaway for two tickets to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child—local residents in the WLNE-TV area may enter daily drawings from September 15 to 19 by watching Good Morning Providence for daily trivia clues.  ABC 6

  • The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority repaired a few square yards of the Mount Hope Bridge surface on Wednesday after it was closed for a weekend of repaving a month ago—officials said the work addressed surface imperfections and discoloration.  WJAR

  • Rhode Island FC lost 3-0 in a penalty shootout after a scoreless game in the Jägermeister Cup semifinal at Centreville Bank Stadium — Sacramento Republic FC took the win. Coach Khano Smith said the team is disappointed but must move on quickly as they prepare to face Indy Eleven at home on Saturday.  The Providence Journal
  • Jonathan Jean Louis played for Hope-St. Patrick's co-op football team in an exhibition game against Mount Pleasant-Times 2 — his performance was a highlight in the match.  The Providence Journal
