- ➤ Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns WJAR, acquired some assets of WLNE last week—this move led to the departure of meteorologist Kelly Bates and sports director Nick Coit from WLNE. - ➤ Bally's announced it plans to sell Twin River Lincoln—receiving $735 million—and will lease it back to fund strategic plans while keeping control of gaming operations. WJAR

- ➤ ACOS will kick off its 28th season of Drag Queen Bingo at Rhodes-on-the-Pawtuxet this week—its largest annual fundraiser, with the event themed Yacht Rock for September. Doors will open at 5 p.m. for a cocktail gathering, and 14 rounds will begin at 7 p.m. Cranston Herald

- ➤ Gov. Dan McKee told the state Public Utilities Commission on Monday that cutting utility bills is a top priority and asked for an extra $25 million in energy relief as part of a plan that could lower costs by roughly $180 million. The proposal—meant to ease higher heating rates planned by Rhode Island Energy this winter—awaits final approval from the commission. Cranston Herald
- ➤ The Rhode Island Airport Corporation renewed CEO Iftikhar Ahmad’s contract for three years to manage T.F. Green and five general aviation airports until October 2028—his new deal will pay him $903,191 in 2025 with a board-approved bonus. - ➤ Energy from three solar farms will generate credits for nine public housing authorities, including those in Cranston and Warwick, under a 20-year agreement with Veolia and Nautilus Solar Energy.
