- ➤ Warwick Center for the Arts will offer a three-week drawing course that teaches beginners to capture light and shadow and understand perspective. Classes will run every Wednesday from October 1 to October 15 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. — cost is $110 for members and $125 for non-members. Warwick Online

- ➤ Attorney General Peter Neronha challenged steep health insurance rate hikes for 2026—rates that could force households to spend about 30% of their income—saying the review process does not consider family impacts. He said his office is drafting new legislation for a public payer option to boost competition. WJAR
- ➤ Rhode Island and Massachusetts announced on Thursday that they joined the Northeast Public Health Collaborative—an effort that brings together nine states and cities to boost shared public health strategies and science-based policies. - ➤ At the Oakland Beach planning board meeting last week, neighbors expressed worries about two duplexes planned for 19 Wood St—citing concerns over lot size and parking—though the board approved the special-use permit.
