- ➤ The U.S. Submarine Veterans Inc. Rhode Island Base held a memorial service on Saturday at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter to honor over 3,000 crew members lost in World War II — officials said 21 Rhode Islanders died on 52 submarines and the event also remembered veterans from the Korean War and the Cold War. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The University of Rhode Island will pay over $150,000 to play five home games at Centreville Bank Stadium in 2026—when Meade Stadium is under renovation. The agreement includes a $30,000 fee per game plus costs for production, cleaning and a ticket fee, while the stadium will keep all food and beverage sales. WJAR
