ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A Bombardier Challenger plane headed to Massachusetts made an emergency landing at T.F. Green Airport Sunday night and stayed on runway 5 until 9:05 p.m.—it was later moved to a parking ramp with no injuries reported. WJAR
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Officers Matthew Maloney, Nicholas Manocchio and Maxwell Neiley rescued a drowning driver from a submerged car in Apponaug Cove on Oct. 18—removing their safety gear to enter the cold water—and were honored on Oct. 22 outside Warwick Police HQ for their brave actions. Warwick Post
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State leaders are working on a plan to support families as SNAP benefits may run out. Gov. McKee said he will hold a press briefing today at 12:45 p.m.—the state intends to use available funds with local food banks and officials to fill the gap. WJAR
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday night, Classical beat Ponaganset 35-15 in a Super Bowl rematch by showing strong defense and quick plays to win the game. Ponaganset will try to recover in its first loss when it meets Pilgrim in Warwick on Thursday night. The Providence Journal
