ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Residents in Warwick should watch the Taurid meteor shower as the southern stream will peak on November 5 and last until November 12 while the northern stream will peak from November 9 to 12. The showers are known for bright fireballs — slow-moving meteors that come from the Taurus constellation and overlap with the Leonids peaking on November 17.  The Providence Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Rhode Island Food Bank updated its map with 137 food pantries and meal sites across the state late yesterday. Local charities may see increased traffic as SNAP access remains uncertain during the ongoing government shutdown — officials expect a higher demand for services.  ABC 6

SPORTS NEWS

  • Rhode Island FC secured its first-ever penalty shootout win on Nov 2 by upsetting Charleston Battery in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals—both teams faced a red card in the final minute. The club advanced to the semifinals and will face North Carolina FC next weekend.  The Providence Journal
