- ➤ Rhode Island residents can see the Taurids meteor shower starting tonight with its southern branch peaking on November 5, while the Leonids, which began on November 3, will peak on November 17 with about 10-15 meteors per hour. Experts say it is best to watch from a dark spot so your eyes have time to adjust to the night. The Providence Journal

- ➤ A federal judge in Boston dismissed a Rhode Island doctor’s bid to return after border agents at Logan sent her back to Lebanon, ruling that the court does not have power over border checks (she worked as a kidney transplant specialist under a visa from Brown University Health). WJAR
