GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Bayside sewers are now complete, and 937 property owners received notices with a capped assessment of $16,900 to pay for the system. The Warwick Sewer Authority used directional drilling (a method that helped protect local Native American sites) to finish the project on budget and improve wastewater management.  Warwick Online
  • The government shutdown has delayed $56,000 in public funds needed to replace the aging roof at the Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center until an environmental review is completed, and the repairs may be pushed into winter to avoid further damage to the building's systems. The historic center, which once served as an elementary school and later housed women and children, now faces increased costs as the delay continues.  Warwick Online
