- ➤ Warwick resident Dana DiMarco became chief philanthropy officer at the Rhode Island Community Food Bank on Oct 14—she now leads efforts to raise funds as federal SNAP payments were delayed on Nov 1. DiMarco said the food bank received over 1,000 new gifts and 120 new monthly donors during this challenging time. Warwick Online
- ➤ The Sparrows in Warwick celebrated resident Margaret Petrarca’s 105th birthday today with family, friends and neighbors. - ➤ Abby Simas, a Life Scout, and her grandfather Fred Linden refurbished the Pilgrim Lutheran Church labyrinth by repainting each stone in red, white, blue and yellow—completing 54 hours of work before colder weather arrived—and the illuminated labyrinth at 1817 Warwick Ave. is now open for public use. - ➤ The Wailin’ Jennys will perform at the Park Theatre in Cranston on November 23 at 7 p.m. and will use the event to raise funds and talk about mental health with Lives in the Balance — the band also will start work on a new album in the future. Warwick Online

- ➤ Students at the Warwick Area Career & Technical Center prepared Thanksgiving pies, cornbread, rolls & turkey gravy to meet earlier orders and will hold pickups at the Tides Restaurant from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 25. Warwick Online
- ➤ On Nov. 7, the Rhode Island Department of Education released its report cards for the 2024–2025 school year showing Pilgrim High School in Warwick gained a star by rising from two to three stars after improvements in ELA proficiency and other key areas — placing it in the upper 40% of high schools while officials credit teachers and new curriculum for the gains. - ➤ A diabetes prevention workshop for residents 60 and older held an orientation Tuesday at the Warwick Public Library and will offer free sessions on Tuesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m., starting November 25th.
