- ➤ Franklin Jonas—often known as Bonus Jonas—sang the Block Island Ferry jingle when he opened for his brothers at Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence on Nov. 20, adding a local touch to the Jonas20 tour. - ➤ Today, high school football championship games take place at Cranston Stadium with Central facing Cumberland in the Division I Consolation Final at 3:30 p.m. and Hendricken set to face La Salle in the State Championship at 7 p.m.—a Division IV game is also held today while Providence Journal will cover all scoring and stats, with Division II and III games scheduled for Sunday. - ➤ URI has a 13-person search committee that will work with a national firm to choose a new athletic director after Thorr Bjorn, who will leave at the end of November after 18 years.
