- ➤ Newport Creamery at Garden City Center is closing on Dec. 28 after more than 60 years because its landlord is not renewing the lease—WS Development will redevelop the site. - ➤ Rhode Island Health Director Dr. Jerry Larkin said there is no evidence that vaccines cause autism after CDC changed its website on November 21 to note that studies have not ruled out a link — he stressed that decades of research show vaccines are safe and urged parents to follow their doctor’s advice for vaccinating children.
