- ➤ The Diocese of Providence hired former state police Lt. Col. Robert Creamer as its new Director of Compliance to ensure clergy and employees follow laws and diocesan rules to keep children safe—he will start his role on January 5. Creamer, a Warwick parishioner with 29 years of law enforcement experience, previously led investigations into crimes against children. The Providence Journal
