About this event

This class is being offered for free by the Office of Public Safety. It is open to students, staff and faculty.

Reiki is:

A simple relaxation technique that has been used for centuries to reduce stress and promote physical, emotional and mental healing. It can be used for self-healing, on others and on animals.

The practitioner places their hands on or above several locations on the body of the person receiving it. Energy then moves to areas of the body that need healing to help restore the healthy flow of energy that can become stuck due to physical illness or injury, trauma and stress.

It is used as a complementary form of treatment in hospitals and hospice centers around the world.

Reiki is not:

A religion

A massage

What to expect in this class:

A quiet, relaxing environment to meet other like-minded people.

Ample time to practice hand placements on one's self and with partners.

What does certification mean?

A reiki 1 certification allows students to conduct reiki sessions on themselves and others. This class is great for anyone looking for another way to reduce stress and speed recovery. It's great for nursing, counseling and expressive arts students to add to their practices as more people are looking for alternatives and complements to traditional treatment.
